Chambers
November 29th: It was super fun to finish. I hope your screens are as dark as mine!
November 9th: Getting rusty with the tablet. I still want to go back and tweak the lips, the eye, the sleeves… I wanted to integrate some texture, but none of the patterns were working.
October 13th: Slow and steady progress.
September 20th: My daily sketches has turned into weekly sketches, but even that is demanding.

Aah, I know how that is. I used to sketch weekly, but now I can’t even get myself to do it monthly. I really like how the sketch at the bottom is turning out though!

I love the painting on the top left. The patterns in the wall and the colors in it are simply gorgeous!
I can’t sketch, paint or anything artsy, but I can (sort of) understand where you’re coming from. I’m like that with designing as of late as well.
Good luck with your lovely paintings though!

It’s looking good so far, but I think adding more lighting and colours will enhance it even more. Right now, it looks kind of brown and dull. (Forgive me if I’m too blunt) Try using lights and shadows in certain areas instead.
Keep working on it, because I can’t wait to see the final results. =)

@Spinkybean: You’re not too blunt at all; thank you for the feedback!
I tried to do a bit of fancy lighting with sharp shadows that the door casts, but I don’t think that’s transferring very well on your side. Is there a painting in my gallery that shows a better balance of light and shadows so I can compare how strong I need to come on?
spinkybean (November 14th, 2008, 12:39 am):
I say “Fishing Well”. You can see clearly that there are highlights on the chin and shadows on the forehead and the usage of different colours to depict them. Light blue and yellow for highlights from what I can see, and purple for the shadows. I think the forehead, the tip of the nose, and the eyelids are the areas which reflect light easily, just like the “Picture of Young Women Sleeping”.
I hope you can understand what I’m trying to say . o_O

You did the eyes so beautifully. It looks amazing — so do your other works. I normally don’t like brown shades, but you made them really awesome, and I liked how it looks against her ivory skin. Can’t wait to see more!

@Spinkybean: I think I know what you’re saying! I’ll keep that in mind when I work on the next panel/decide to back to the previous piece.
@Azreen: Thank you. I’m glad I was able to make you like brown, at least once =) And it’s a “him” ^^;
