Eagle’s Eye

I hope it’s obvious that I made an effort with the hair because it’s easy to spot out of place strands with white/silver hair XD.
Overall, I’m satisfied with the painting. I wish I could have pulled off a pose with the arrow and bow raised. While I’m beginning to take more liberties with my references, my dynamic poses are yet to be convincing.

Oh my, Veve. That is simply beautiful. I love it. He looks so serious and down to business. Prefect, you did a wonderful job.

I love how the bird is positioned behind him. It makes him look winged, which I actually thought when I only saw the thumbnail XD;; The soft look and colors on this one is beautiful.

Awesomesauce!
I agree with Cat’s comment, at first I thought the [guy] was winged! But that makes it even more surprising to find an eagle near him! It looks very sleek and convincing to me, however, the eagle leaves a more anime-ish impression in my opinion. I would try to make the black lines of it’s beak less obvious, then it would look less anime-ish and more realistic, fitting into the image as a whole (Unless you were aiming at a more contrasting aspect in your artwork). Also, I was wondering, is the guy holding some kind of special splitted bow? I’ve never seen such a bow! Does it have any meaning to it?

(Haha. I think of Icarus when I picture guy with wings.) I suppose that adds an extra layer of depth. There’s this drama called Condor Heroes and the hero befriends this giant eagle who fights by his side and aids him when he needs to escape.
Thank you, Phee! Not only the beak, but the talons as well… they fall flat. I will see what I can do about it when I find the time.
No, it doesn’t! It was an accident that I ended up keeping because I thought it was interesting =)

ah yes Icarus XD
I was thinking of that as well. Seeing how you went back into mythology with the roman walls on ‘accident’already harr harr. I like both meanings. Icarus and Condor Heroes.
