Fishing Well

Fishing Well

August 13th: Added about 50 pixels to the top because if I were to print this the bleed would cut off the white-haired figure’s eyes, and as much as I like cropping faces these days, I’d like them both to have some sort of identity this time.

August 11th: The aftermath of Lost and Found.

“What are you looking at?”

“Fish. See that group over there? I named them after us.”

“Careful. It might just end up on your plate.”

“But that’s treason!”

“Don’t worry, I’ll keep them safe, but you have to promise me one thing in return.”

“What is it?”

“Look at me. Don’t you dare run off like that again. I don’t care how upset people make you. Unless Hades himself is inside our walls–in which case don’t stop running until the ground crumbles beneath you and never look back–but until that happens, you can’t be so reckless. I won’t be so forgiving next time.”

“I promise.”

“Good; however, your little escapade isn’t going to go unpunished. The classes that you’ve missed will be made up for on your own time. In addition, you’re on stable duty for a month. Oh, and one more thing: to save you time, I already went through the trouble of threatening the stablehands for you.”

———

There are a few things are still bothering me. I like their expressions on the sketch more.

Cobwebs

Cobwebs

August 8th: Fixed some anatomy problems.

cobwebs2.jpeg August 7th: A revisit of Perched because I couldn’t come up with something new.

I wanted to do something theatrical with fancy costumes and dramatic headpieces. Perhaps I should pick up a book on it.

Back Online

As a result of 11 days without internet: Flamingo, Touch, Cell, Lost and Found and Winds of Change. I also have another work in progress but it’s turning out to be rather shitty.

While I was stranded, I looked through some of my paintings on my cousin’s computer. The colours are muted and muddy, and the shadows weren’t shadows at all–instead, they were sloppy paint strokes of the surrounding elements. Do let me know if something is off for you; it may be the monitor (in which case I’ll see if I can find a compromise) or it may just be my lack of skills (and I do encourage any sort of criticism).
