Second Chance

He visits everyday, and sometimes twice a day, for hours at time. Neither rain nor snow ever stopped him. He would inform him that his father tires more easily now, but his mother is regaining her health thanks Zoisite’s constant coaxing. Soon, she will be able to help ease her husband’s burden again. And he tells him he doesn’t need to worry about Ajax because Jadeite is taking excellent care of his stallion, temperamental though it is having gone so long without its master’s attention. Surprisingly, Nephrite is the restless one, unable to find a suitable distraction. He has volunteered to attend the hearing of every boundary dispute, never staying in one place for long.
Some days he doesn’t come to talk. Instead, he’ll sit quietly at the base enjoying the company of the stone. For him, the statue makes lousy conversation, but nature seems to like him well enough; birds would rest on his head, squirrels would scurry across his feet, and Mother Nature herself would settle a layer of moss over his shoulders as though to warm him. If he stays very still, the wind seems to carry to his ears the sounds his laughter, consoling him with the illusion that he’s right beside him in flesh and blood. Like therapy, he will be rejuvenated then. So until his prince is ready to emerge from his cocoon and restore the equilibrium to their lives, he will visit everyday, sometimes twice a day, for hours at time. Neither rain nor snow will stop him.
Blah, I did nothing yesterday but paint and eat. God, my eyes, and the painting is too big for my computer to handle at a decent speed. I have given Kunzite no less than 30 surgeries, and I still have problems with him. He will stay as awkward as he is until I can get a reference. It is at times like these that I want a boyfriend.

May 29th: So I lied about doing more designs…
I’m kind of satisfied with the direction in which this is going, but a few things are bothering me. I’m still playing with Mamoru’s expression. While I’ll be the first to admit he’s a pretty little thing, it’s bordering feminine. Perhaps it’s the hair? And is it just me or is Kunzite’s torso coming up about half a head too short? In fact, how is his anatomy in general? I didn’t have a reference to work off for his pose. Once the characters are finalized, there needs to be a kingdom/cathedral behind the foliage.
There’s two more ideas that I’m entertaining before I create a new layout, partly because I want to turn one of them into a layout =)

It’s looking gorgeous so far, of course.
I didn’t get a chance to comment on your last entry, but I want to say thanks for the plug! I really do hope you make more designs since I miss looking at them. I wonder how the next design will look like!

Is Kunzite the one with longer hair? (Sorry, I’m not familiar with the characters ^^;;) His back is slouching a little, so maybe that makes it look too short? It seems ok to me, although I’m not that great at anatomy XD;; I think his shoulders could be a little broader though.
I don’t think Mamoru looks too feminine :3 I think the peak of his hair makes his forehead look too big though. Other than that, the shape of his body is looking great, and his face is very pretty.
I can’t wait to see this one done!
