Study: Field
Speed painting. 1.5 hours.
Another scene from “5 Centimeters per Second”. It’s a movie with a theme about distance between characters with a soft spoken narrative from 3 different characters. It’s somewhat of a depressing watch, but if nothing else, the art is astounding, and I plan to do a series of paintings of scenes from it.

What’s great about your CG’s is that they’re not very detailed but the colors and every perspective makes it look amazing.

Thank you. That’s what I love about speed-painting–I don’t have to worry about perfecting every little detail, just that it comes together on as a whole. It works well with me because I have the patience of a toddler.
But there are times that I really wish I could spend 50-60 hours on something and not get tired of it. That’s what I’m trying to do with that WIP I have going on, but as you can see, production sort of… stopped.

This piece is nice~ I like the colours and the lighting, especially the sky. Ah, yes, and the perspective too. I’m not good with painting sceneries and playing around with colours, something which I should practise more often.
Good job by the way!
