Affecionately is a service for personalized messages in a bottle.
The project was solely directed by me. From handcrafting the bottles, to taking the pictures and developing the graphics that goes with the web site. I was going for a simple and intimate quality; the same atmosphere that is created from sharing an affectionate moment between two people as a result from a simple gesture.
This is a freeware layout created for DigiCreation. It uses an image from an art book of the popular Japanese series, Naruto.
As dictated by the image, I worked in an oriental atmosphere. The ample content space and relaxing beige makes it ideal for a site with a lot of writing such as a personal blog.
I think the colour scheme is gorgeous. Green is a great colour to work with. Then again, I also liked a lot of the other schemes I came up with but it seems like the original is always the best. The design concept was relatively simple. The sketch version transfered very well. The navigation is also a blast to play with.
It was one of the most complicated layout that I’ve ever coded. I’ve reduced to using techniques that I didn’t particularly want to do such as negative positioning. But, it gets the job done.
