Mirror, Mirror

Disney’s ideal woman is someone who is frail and dependant on the male protagonist and a collection of inanimate or animal friends. The Figure on the left is the representation of Disney’s Snow White. The cracks on the “mirror” expresses that she is not as perfect as she is depicted and this depiction isn’t right. The figure on the right shows a cooler, less alive version of Snow White. She bear laces, a comb and an apple earing–things with which the Queen has tried to kill her with. I believe the witch should have succeeded, hence a morbid mirror image. A woman should be able to take responsibility for her own actions. Snow White did not listen to the dwarfs and gave into products of vanity, not once, but three times. Women rights today is not the results of any heroic prince charmings, but the results of their own fighting.
